    У статті висвітлено роль правового регулювання у сфері цивільного захисту із фокусом на класифікації надзвичайних ситуацій. Досліджено загальне розуміння поняття «класифікація», а також значення класифікації в праві. Проаналізовано законодавство України щодо ролі класифікації надзвичайних ситуацій, особливо тих, що мають природний характер. Наголошено на важливості належної правової класифікації надзвичайних ситуацій природного характеру. This article examines the key role of legal regulation in the civil protection system, with a special focus on the importance and specificities of emergency classification. The study delves into the fundamental understanding of the term “classification” as a universal tool for systematising and organising information used in various fields of knowledge. In addition, the article provides a comprehensive analysis of the significance of classification in legal science and practice, where it is an integral element of legal regulation, ensuring clarity, consistency and efficiency of law enforcement. It has been determined that establishing a clear and scientifically sound classification is the foundation for developing effective legal mechanisms in any aspect of public relations, including civil protection.
