Abstract
У статті окреслено основні проблемні питання соціального захисту осіб похилого віку в Україні. Наголошено на таких прогалинах та недоліках в системі соціального захисту осіб похилого віку, як: недосконалість законодавства у вказаній сфері, відсутність належних заходів із надання соціальних послуг та соціальної допомоги на регіональному та місцевому рівнях, неналежний рівень діяльності установ, якими надаються послуги цій категорії осіб та прогалини в роботі геріатричних закладів, відсутність надання різного роду фінансової допомоги таким особам, неналежний рівень пенсійного забезпечення, а також відсутність цільового фінансування спеціальних програм для людей похилого віку, яке діє в більшості високорозвинених країнах. У рамках статті запропоновано основні напрямки удосконалення роботи геріатричних закладів та установ для осіб похилого віку. The article outlines the main problematic issues of social protection of the elderly in Ukraine. Gaps and shortcomings in the system of social protection of the elderly are highlighted as: imperfection of legislation in this area, lack of appropriate measures for the provision of social services and social assistance at the regional and local levels, inadequate level of activity of institutions providing services to this category of persons and gaps in the work of geriatric institutions, the lack of providing various financial assistance to such persons, the inadequate level of pensions, as well as the lack of targeted funding for special programs for the elderly, which operates in most highly developed countries. The article proposes the main directions of improving the work of geriatric facilities and institutions for the elderly.
