Abstract
Загальна декларація прав людини стала фундаментом для забезпечення основних гарантій щодо здоров’я, освіти, житла, захисту сім’ї, демократії, верховенства права та захисту від поневолення, тортур, жорстокого чи нелюдського поводження чи покарання, що принижує гідність. Ці положення були розширені в наступних конвенціях, і вони мають просте обґрунтування: ці права людини та основні свободи повинні поважатися, гарантуватися та захищатися. Міжнародні норми прав людини зараз визначають необхідний рівень забезпечення прав людини. Загальна декларація прав людини, Міжнародний пакт про громадянські та політичні права, Міжнародний пакт про економічні, соціальні та культурні права, Міжнародна конвенція про ліквідацію дискримінації щодо жінок, Міжнародна конвенція про ліквідацію расової дискримінації, Конвенція про права дитини мають на меті забезпечити свободу, гідність, рівність і захист прав людини. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights provided the foundation for basic guarantees in health, education, housing, protection of the family, democracy, the rule of law, and protection from slavery, torture, cruel or inhuman treatment, or degrading punishment. These provisions have been expanded in subsequent conventions and have a simple rationale: these human rights and fundamental freedoms must be respected, guaranteed, and protected. International human rights norms now determine the required level of human rights protection. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the International Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, the International Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, the Convention on the Rights of the Child aim to ensure freedom, dignity, equality, and protection of human rights.
