    Статтю присвячено проблемним питанням участі понятих у кримінальному провадженні. Нині одна з проблем кримінального судочинства – це теоретичне осмислення застосування інституту понятих як учасників кримінального провадження. Залучення понятих у кримінальному провадженні має на меті створення потрібних умов для об’єктивного та правильного провадження слідчих дій, засвідчення та закріплення доказів. Нині є певні вимоги до осіб для залучення їх як понятих. Понятий є досить важливою процесуальною фігурою в сучасному кримінальному процесі України. The article is devoted to problematic issues of participation of witnesses in criminal proceedings. Today, one of the problems of criminal justice is the theoretical understanding of the use of the institution of concepts as participants in criminal proceedings. Involvement of witnesses in criminal proceedings is aimed at creating the necessary conditions for objective and correct investigation, certification and consolidation of evidence. Today there are certain requirements for individuals to involve them as witnesses. The concept is a very important procedural figure in the modern criminal process of Ukraine.
