The article considers and summarizes cartographic data in the historical context to study the dynamics of settlement of certain lands by the Ukrainian ethnic group and counter-propaganda refutation on this basis of allegations of artificial creation of Ukraine in the so-called «historical Russian lands» as a basis for military aggression against Ukraine.
