    У статті подається авторський бачення основних етапів становлення і розвитку кримінально-виконавчої системи УРСР. Одночасно, аргументується думка, чому система виправних колоній, таборів, спеціальних медичних установ, тюрем, а також норм виправно-трудового і кримінального права формували собою власне систему, одним із основних завдань якої було недопущення розвитку громадянського суспільства й боротьба з інакодумством. The article presents the author’s vision of the main stages of the formation and development of the criminal enforcement system of the Ukrainian SSR. At the same time, the opinion is argued why the system of correctional colonies, camps, special medical institutions, prisons, as well as the norms of correctional labor and criminal law formed a system in itself, one of the main tasks of which was to prevent the development of civil society and fight against dissent.
